How we Met!
On a hot summer night in Chicago (Friday September 7, 2007 to be exact), Ashley was getting ready with Eileen to go to the best 80s bar in town, "The Hangee Upee." Ashley had nothing to wear, so Eileen lent her a short colorful sundress for the evening.
On the other side of town, Brad, Greg, Matt and Matt were having their own fun on Rush Street as this was going to be a total guy’s weekend. After taking several shots of tequila, Matt got a text from his brother saying that they all had to go to a bar around the corner called "The Hangee Upee." Brad and his friends arrived around ten and Ashley and Eileen came shortly afterwards.
Brad noticed Ashley as she was walking down the stairs and he immediately turned to Matt and said, "that girl is adorable!" Ashley noticed Brad too and after about an hour of exchanging looks and smiles, Brad finally came over and asked her to dance. Ashley kindly accepted and they ended up dancing the night away.
Brad and Ashley spent the rest of the weekend together and just four week later the two were back together enjoying their first date...a Chicago Cubs Playoff Game! THe following May, Ashley made the move to the Bay and the two have been together ever since.
How We Got Engaged!
After a two year courtship, Ashley woke up next to a note asking her to get ready for a weekend in wine country to celebrate Brad's recent promotion at work. Little did she know what else was waiting for her in Napa. They arrived at Chateau Montelena early in the morning and tasted the same chardonnay they had at dinner two years ago. After the tasting, they explored the gorgeous property that surrounds the winery until they arrived at the gazebo near the pond. Once in the gazebo, Brad got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage.
Ashley said yes!
Now after a year of planning, Brad and Ashley will become husband and wife on July 24, 2010!
