First Day at KPMG Munich

Today was my first day back at work. Between the wedding and our relocation to Germany, I had taken 7 weeks of personal time this summer, so it was certainly time for me to get back to work. German businessmen dress far more formally than those in the US. Before leaving the US, I had to purchase a few suits and ties (I’ll need those each day, even on Fridays).

I found my way to the office (easily located via the U-bahn) and located the IT department where I received my computer, badge, etc. I checked email for the first time to realize that all office-wide emails are in German (of course). How do I know if I even need to respond? I couldn’t be more thankful for Google translate until I improve my German skills. The office is much bigger than I expected, roughly 1500 employees work in KPMG’s Munich office. Everyone was very gracious and happy to show me around. I’ll look forward to getting to Allianz on Monday.

Going to meet the wife at Café Lotti in Maxvorstadt, hopefully she had a wonderful morning!
